Ally started her dance career in ‘Pink Mafia’, a world renowned, underground hip hop dance crew lead by Mark Calape AKA ‘Swarf’. Here she found her passion for dance, and began to develop her versatility in many different forms and styles. Since December 2007 she has been dancing in Nemisis Street Dance Crew who reached the final of the second series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. During the last 12 months, Ally has engaged in a number of new ventures, developing her deeper understanding of the different styles and techniques within dance, including a trip to Cuba to learn real Cuban style Salsa!
More recently she was introduced to Urban Arts Academy, a local initiative in Milton Keynes aimed at engaging young people who experience barriers to social inclusion. This project reinvigorated her belief that she wanted to work with young people. By formulating choreography for her dance classes within the Urban Arts programme and then carrying out the teaching personally, Ally has seen the positive impact this work has now had on young people who volunteer for schemes outside of the established system.
Her experience as a dance teacher coupled with her ability to develop respectful relationships with students is an asset in any workshop situation.
